Halloween Pictures
I know it's been a few weeks since Halloween and that we're careening fast toward Thanksgiving, but I had to post a few adorable pics of the kids from Halloween! Taylor was a beautiful princess, and Austin was a hot dog with all the fixins! I love both of their costumes; Austin had fun at home with me, and Tay had a blast trick-or-treating (until the rain rolled in; still, she got a good haul!).

The 10 Best (and 10 Worst) Halloween Candies
I found these blog entries on Bon Appetit last night and got a big laugh out of them (particularly the 10 Worst list). I gotta say, though, that hating on candy corn, circus peanuts, and Dum Dums is not right (though the guy redeems himself by putting candy corn on the 10 Best list too - he states that they "look and taste like the nectarous fangs of unicorns" - LOL). And Whoppers on the 10 Best list? *gags* Sorry, malted milk does nothing for me! Anyway, see what you agree or disagree with on these lists; either way, the guy is hilarious and defends his choices well.

Fun Food Quizzes on Martha Stewart's Web Site
I got an e-mail yesterday from Martha Stewart's web site with a link to a fun Halloween food quiz - What Halloween Candy Are You? (I was candy corn - couldn't be more correct!). I'm a sucker for fun little quizzes like that (especially holiday-related ones), so I looked at the other quizzes on her site and found some great ones for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas; here are the links:
What Type of Halloween Candy Are You?
Which Halloween Character Are You?
What is Your Pumpkin Personality?
Do You Know Your Spooks and Frights Across America?
What is Your Halloween Party Personality?
Are You Spooky or Sweet?
What is Your Fall Foods IQ?
Which Thanksgiving Side Dish Are You?
What Christmas Cookie Are You?
Have fun!! :)

Halloween Costumes
There are several Halloween costumes I'm considering for the kids, and I just can't decide which ones I should go with! Here are the ones I'm looking at for Taylor:
And here are the ones I've found that I like for Austin (yes, some of them are a little silly but just too adorable!):
What do you guys think? Any input would be appreciated! :)

Food-Related Trivia Games
I read about the website Sporcle (which features trivia games on a variety of topics) on Serious Eats and took some of the food-related trivia games - oh my gosh, too much fun and a great way to waste some time! :) I particularly loved the cereal mascots one (got 15 out of 16 right with just over 2 1/2 minutes left) and the candy slogans one (got 15 out of 20 right there - I have a special place in my brain for ad slogans from the past 15-20 years). Anyway, there are tons of different types of trivia games to test your knowledge of all sorts of things; enjoy!

Name the candy from its slogan
American breakfast cereals available since the 1960s

Products Gone But Not Forgotten
I saw this article on MSN recently and loved it; my favorites - Jello 1-2-3, Bar None, and Chicken Tonight (LOVED Jello 1-2-3 back in the day and was recently wondering what happened to it - had no idea it disappeared way back in '96!). Anyway, enjoy these little blasts from the past!

Taylor Plays with Mommy's Purse
I left my purse out recently and Taylor took the opportunity to make a grab for it and tote it around - too cute! :)
She also loves wearing sunglasses now - these broke the day I took the pictures though! :( We have two new pairs for her now, so she's in good shape!
And, of course, it's hard to beat the fun in drawing on her Magna Doodle!

Lady Pail Head
There was an episode of a TV show Taylor used to love, SuperWhy, in which one of the characters, Littlest Pig, was playing pretend with Jill (from the "Jack and Jill" nursery rhyme). Jill insisted that Littlest Pig put a pail on his head and call himself Sir Pail Head, but Littlest Pig was too embarrassed to wear it (it's an adorable episode!). Taylor, however, had no problem putting her little pail on her head! I called her Lady Pail Head in honor of the SuperWhy episode. :) I LOVE these!

Eagles Greensboro Concert Review and Pics!
I'm finally getting around to posting a link to the review from The News & Record newspaper of the Eagles concert Mom and I went to. Overall, the review was on-the-mark, though I don't agree with his assessment of Henley's overall demeanor (he seemed to me to be in a great mood; I loved when, just before intermission, he said that they were gonna take a break to "let y'all take care of your bidness"!) or Joe Walsh not being that funny (bullcrap, he's hysterical, especially in his little dialogue before Life's Been Good!). I thought the guys were phenomenal as always - worth every penny and an amazing birthday present!! Anyway, here's the link: http://eaglesfans.typepad.com/09tour/0117_greensboro_nc/
